Saving Pirate Luke - Help Our Cat Beat a Brain Infection

**URGENT OPERATION SUCCEEDED!**

Our one-eyed Pirate Luke has already survived a lot of hardship.

He was found barely surviving on the streets under a car. He was rescued by a cat sanctuary, but his health was so poor that one of his eyes had to be removed.

I volunteered at the sanctuary myself, and he was one of the first cats to greet me with his gentle, playful nature.

It seemed he had finally achieved a happy ending after being adopted out in June 2025.

Then I got a call from the sanctuary. The adopter was going to euthanise him.

After quickly going downhill due to an infection that had spread from his nose to his ears and brain, the adopter couldn't deal with the estimated vet bills and gave him up for dead.

I agreed to foster him and raise funds for his treatment. I was not going to let this beautiful 2-year-old boy die when his issues are treatable. He can have a happy life ahead of him and be rehomed with a loving family if we can get him healthy.

The specialists at Queen Mother Animal Hospital said the infection was so deep that he needed surgery called a ventral bulla osteotomy (VBO) to remove it.

His care has been further complicated by him developing diabetes, which we are still trying (not yet successfully) to control.

So far, I have funded most of his care myself, which has cost thousands. I am desperate to get him healthy. He is a brave, loving orange boy, and I will do whatever it takes to get him well.

Please, please help us by donating, by sharing this fundraiser, by telling anyone and everyone you know who loves cats about it.

Save Pirate Luke so he can have the happy life ahead of him that he deserves.

If you've never met Luke, you can get to know my lovely foster boy on his socials (and you can also meet my own adopted rescue cat, Marble, who is a wonderful "wobbly" cat):

If I raise more than my costs, I will donate the rest to registered cat sanctuaries.
