Hi, my name is Lauren.
I’m reaching out with a very heavy heart. My sweet 5-year-old cat, Olive, was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, a diagnosis that came completely out of the blue during what was supposed to be a routine annual checkup. Heartbreakingly, we found out on the exact five-year anniversary of her adoption, her “Gotcha Day.”
Olive has always been the picture of health, full of life and love. She had no symptoms at all, so the news hit me like a truck. One moment, I thought we had plenty of years left together and the next, I was being told that without treatment, she might only have a few weeks to months.
Her form of lymphoma is attacking her red blood cells, and she’s already needed blood transfusions. Our vet has recommended starting her on the CHOP chemotherapy protocol, a weekly treatment plan that could potentially put her cancer into remission and give her a fighting chance and give her more quality time with us.
So far, we’ve already spent over $5,000 on diagnostics and emergency care. Unfortunately, we didn’t have pet insurance for Olive, so every expense has come out of pocket and chemo will add significantly more to that burden.
Olive means everything to me. She’s been my best friend, my comfort, and my joy. I want to give her every possible chance to keep fighting, and that’s why I’m asking for help.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world to us. Every little bit brings us closer to getting Olive the care she needs. And if you can’t donate, sharing this message would still make a big difference.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story. Your kindness and support mean more than words can express.
With love,
Lauren & Olive
