Hi everyone,

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

I’m asking for help to save my best friend — my sweet boy, Niko.

Niko is not just a pet. He is my comfort, my healing, and my steady place after losing my father and going through my divorce. During some of the darkest moments of my life, he stayed right by my side.

Every single day, Niko holds my hand. He literally places his paw in mine and just stays there like he knows I need him. He smiles bright as the sun and gives me a million little doggy sugars that somehow make everything feel lighter. His love is pure, constant, and unconditional.

Now Niko needs surgery, and I am devastated and scared. The cost is more than I can manage on my own. As much as it humbles me to ask for help, I love him more than my pride.

He has carried me through grief, heartbreak, and rebuilding my life. Now I’m asking for help to carry him through this.
