Hands for Paws: Saving Mzia’s dogs

 Together we can make a difference!

We are a group of ordinary people helping an extraordinary woman, Mzia Kuloshvili , who recently lost her home to a devastating fire, leaving her and 40 dogs without shelter , and with winter approaching fast, we are determined to help them survive. 

Mzia has devoted her life to saving the sickest , oldest and most neglected dogs from the streets of Tbilisi. She gave up everything, sold her every asset , for the well being of her beloved dogs. 

We are facing several time sensitive problems , and hereis what we are doing: 

* Before the house fire, someone dumped a very sick dog by Mzia’s house. Unfortunately by the time Mzia was able to isolate him , most dogs that intersected all were infected with Menge. 

* Most dogs are malnourished , and most are infected with a deadly Parvo virus. Unfortunately vaccines are not effective. 

*40 dogs need a minimum of 20kg of food a day. We negotiated a special rate of 60.00 Geo Lari ( that’s about 19.00 $) with local producers, per 1 , 20kg bag. 

*We have given all 40 dogs a single pill of Bravecto. We need to cover the cost = 3,600.00 Geo Lari. That’s about $1,125.00 USD . Each pill costs about 90.00 Geo Lari = 29.00 USD. 

*All dogs must receive urgent veterinary care. Thankfully, we have teamed with a wonderful Vegetarians  at Vetex . 

* We have a wonderful group of volunteers, that have put their paws together for  Mzia. We will sanitize her property, clean the debris and rebuild a small cottage for the time being.
