As many of you know, my mother Maria Dolores was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer in November of 2017.  She lives in my home country of Venezuela, where the political and economic situation has become a humanitarian crisis.  A loaf of bread and a carton of eggs now cost nearly a months wage, and the borders to Columbia and Brazil have been closed, preventing much needed chemotherapy from reaching her.

She needs to undertake a delicate surgery, and access to medical supplies is nearly impossible due to hyper-inflation. In order to receive medical assistance, Venezuelans must bring all supplies needed for every level of pre-operation and post care.  This is all unbelievably expensive, and a diagnosis that is easily treatable in the United States is now holding her precious life in the balance.  She is a mother and grandmother. She is so loving and beautiful.

My dear mother has SO MUCH to live for and she NEEDS your HELP.  I lost my father to stomach cancer, in Venezuela, when I was 5 years old.  I can’t bear the thought of losing another parent.

There has been an extreme medical supply shortage in Venezuela since 2016.  Me and my family have been working tirelessly to pay for the supplies for over a year.  At this point, I am still able to help pay for the transportation and supplies through other countries, but I don’t know how long other borders will remain open, so time is very precious.  I am standing in a very vulnerable place right now, asking for help from those who are willing. Please support me, my mother and my family to help get us through this.  Time is not on our side and I need to travel for supplies in as soon as 4 weeks.
