PLS SUPPORT CARLA'S 3YRS BATTLE FROM BRAIN INJURY

"Hi, I'm Irene and I'm here to raise a fund to help my cousin, Carla, in her battle of brain injury.

Andro's Message, Carla's Husband
Hi, I'm Andro and would like to seek your support for medical and recovery cost for Carla's upcoming craniotomy surgery.

Background
Carla and I are blessed to have a beautiful daughter Jessie. Knowing our love is special, we married last December 2014 as soon as we have the chance with the blessings from our family. Only that our daughter was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia. We spend most of our times in the hospital but we still remain positive while selling Carla's designed shirts for fundraising and I continue to work for addition to Jessie's fund for operation. Sadly, she passed away before turning two last January 10, 2016.

February 2016
One night my wife woke up. She complains of having headaches. We are still mourning and especially for a mother like her as she love our daughter so much. She asks for a glass of water which I hurriedly comply but her succeeding reactions left me confused. She is arguing the glass of water is empty even if it is not(transparent).

Not wanting to argue as she just woke up, I advised her to hold and drink which thankfully she does. To clear my doubts I asked her how many fingers I'm showing but all of her answers are "I don't know". With her still enduring headaches, I asked a few questions but just gets the same response. I decided we go to a hospital.

At the hospital, I was informed that she had an unusual high intracranial pressure that's why she can't think straight. We stayed for a few more days and got discharged after being given medications (Mannitol).

April - May 2017
Half-asleep, I felt my wife is crawling out of bed when I hear a loud 'thud'. I suddenly bolted out of bed and hear my wife's cry of pain. She is at the floor holding hear in both hands (The bed is 18-20 inches high from the floor) . She can't get up so I lifted her to top of bed. She stops complaining and relaxed until she falls asleep. I called for my parents and rushed her to the hospital. We never returned to normal since then.

After a month in the hospital for VT shunt due to high ICP and multiple seizures in relation to few small blood traces in the lining of her brain, we got home with her only recognizing us but forgets a lot of memories. Sometimes she remembers but mostly not including our memories with our daughter.

The next month, she had a seizure losing control on her left side, arm and leg, and not reacting to our calls and cannot eat. So we went back to hospital. Then got out.
Almost every month, for a week, we stay then get out of the hospital due to her seizures. Back and forth.
She is negative in all of her laboratories including any relations to immune system problems. Pachymeningitis is the main diagnosis.

January to May 2018
By this time, she is now able to walk, eat, get up from her bed and any general actions, all on her own. We were able to get to a park and bike around.

We're so happy.

We still make sure she has someone beside her all the time.

May 2018
She had a hard time getting her bowel movement. And then she had a seizure. With her not able to react and eat her food like usual, we went to hospital. Again, negative in her all lab tests and MRI results. The Doctor is suggesting for biopsy as those small traces of blood in the lining that should have passed and gone are still seen on the MRI. I could not decide yet. How can I approve for my wife's skull to be opened?

Feb 14, 2019
For the past months, she had a weaker appetite than the previous six months and gradually weaken control on her left arm and leg. She stills eats but it seems enough. And then she had a seizure.
We went to the hospital. She is so weak that the Doctor informed us for the possibilities. Negative possibilities.

I don't know what I felt as confusions poured all over me but I looked at her and she is fighting. It can't possibly mean that after all these months she just don't want it anymore.

With NGT feeding and gradual feeding into mouth from basic soup to rice meals, she has now regained little strength but still weak on left side.
The MRI result is now different and displaying a 'tumor' on her right brain. It is not there for the numerous MRIs she had for the last two years.

Craniotomy is her best course of action and best to take it sooner this April 2019. After that, recovery and rehabilitation and hoping that her left side functions gradually returns.

Please help me bring my wife back. Your donations and sincere prayers are all a great help to us."
