Help Moziah Heal: Support His Open-Heart Surgery

Hi, my name is Natalie, and I’m fundraising for my son, Moziah Anthony Braithwaite.

Moziah recently attempted to enlist in the United States Air Force — a path he was excited and proud to pursue. However, during his physical exam, a military doctor detected a heart murmur and referred him to a cardiologist. After further testing and in-depth evaluation, Moziah was diagnosed with severe mitral valve regurgitation, a serious condition in which the heart’s mitral valve doesn’t close properly, causing blood to flow backward into the heart.

This diagnosis not only disqualified him from enlisting, but also changed the course of his life. His doctors have determined that open-heart surgery for mitral valve repair or replacement is the best — and necessary — course of action.

If you know Moziah, you know he’s a kind, creative, and thoughtful young man. He’s a bit introverted but deeply connected to the things and people he loves. He finds joy in playing video games with his friends and family and has a true passion for music — whether he’s strumming his guitar, producing beats, or just vibing to a playlist.
