Milo has always been the spotlight in any room, bringing joy and laughter to everyone he meets. Over the past two nights, he started waking up with seizures, which was terrifying for my family and I. Early this morning, I rushed him to the emergency animal hospital at 3am. The veterinarians immediately put him on an IV and started anti-seizure medication to stabilize him. After running bloodwork, we learned that Milo’s ALT (liver enzymes) were critically high, and his globulin, albumin, and protein levels were also lower than normal. This has the doctors very concerned about his liver and overall health.
After already spending a significant amount on his emergency care, the vet now needs to do further testing on his stomach/liver to find out what’s causing these issues. The additional tests are necessary to help Milo get the treatment he needs, but the costs are starting to add up to a significant amount, it’s heartbreaking to be in a position where I have to even question the decision between his life and the cost of his life saving care.
I’m reaching out to ask for help—whether it’s through a donation or simply sharing Milo’s story. Your support will help cover his urgent emergency care, ongoing medication, and the testing he needs to get better. It would mean the world to me and my family to give Milo the best chance at recovery. Thank you so much for reading and for any help you can give.
