Saving Mikkell

Please read the message below from my sweet friend, Mikkell. She will not survive without this treatment. Please find it in your heart to save a life.

First, I cannot believe im writing this.

After a great deal of consideration and prayer, I have determined it is necessary to ask for help. 

My latest blood work indicates my kidneys are dumping more protein than ever before. It is a very dangerous situation because they're dumping the anticoagulant proteins.  This means I'm a high risk for blood clots that cause embolism or stroke.  Also, our bodies require these proteins for proper function and at some point organs will start shutting down.

My doctors agree we must use another treatment.   The best option is called rituximab.   It's an infusion that costs about $25,000 per dose.  At this time, my nephrologist is planning on two doses.  I have already applied for two different  assistance programs because I do not have health insurance.  Ironically, I do not qualify for the programs because I don't have health insurance.  

I do not have the $50,000 to pay for this treatment which can most likely save my life.

It is with the greatest humility I ask all of my family and friends, if you can find it in your heart to help me, it will be so greatly appreciated.
