My name is Aayush, and along with my friend Manavi, I’m raising funds for Meena Ji — a 65-year-old woman from Dallas, Texas, who is fighting Stage-4 chronic kidney disease.

I’ve known Meena Ji for almost 10 years. We first met when she used to cook langar at the Gurudwara, and that’s how our bond started. Over the years, she has cooked for my family, helped with catering, and even made food for me at home. She is one of the kindest, most giving people I’ve met.

Today, she is in one of the toughest phases of her life.

Meena Ji lives alone and is struggling to pay rent and basic expenses. Because of her health, she is no longer able to work as a chef. Her doctors have diagnosed her with Stage-4 Chronic Kidney Disease, along with anemia, hypertension, and other complications. She will need a kidney transplant for both kidneys, and continuous treatment until then.

Despite her situation, her heart has always been the same — big and generous. She has given food for free, charged very little for catering, and even let people stay at her home when they couldn’t afford rent. She has helped others more than she ever helped herself.

Now, she needs support.
