One day last week, I finished a Twitch stream and was just relaxing afterwards - just having a normal night, when my boyfriend noticed Mavrick was being very lethargic, to the point where he wouldn't move.
It got to the point where when he tried to move, but he couldn't. He was weak, with large pupils - and couldn't use his hind legs. Both him, and our family were mortified. It was around 2AM so we went to an emergency vet, where they did an ultrasound and an overall well check, when it was diagnosed that he has three masses on his spleen, full of freefluid. One was irritated and started bleeding into his abdomen - making him weak.
The doctor was able to get him back to being stable, however the only way to prevent another one of these incidents is to remove his spleen and send out the masses to be looked at by a histopathologist to see if they're cancerous.
The funds would be used for Mavy's medical costs to actually remove his spleen, as well as recuperate from some of the costs for his second opinions. The sooner we get the funding, the sooner we can schedule and get his spleen out.
Mavrick has been my buddy for the past nine years, I've had him since he was a puppy. His whole life he has been so healthy and just an emotional rock for me to lean on, as I dealt with tragic events such as my father's passing. Our pets do so much for us, and sometimes we have to return the favor, and I want to do this for him. I would be so grateful to have his spleen out, so I wouldn't have to worry about him internally bleeding - and can just focus on our amazing family for so much longer to come. Thank you so much.
