Saving Life of Bob Hamblin Double Amputee

Donation protected
We, the Arroyo Grande, CA, High School graduating Class of 1973, Bob’s alma mater, are asking for monetary donations to support Bobby “Bob” Hamblin, a recent double amputee, in persevering with his recovery and life beyond. You can personally make a difference in Bob’s future and his ongoing quality of life.
Bobby “Bob” Hamblin is a survivor! He was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and devastated by the medical recommendation to amputate his left leg/foot. In February 2023 his left leg, just below his knee, was amputated to improve his quality of life, including reducing pain and health complications associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus advancing to gangrene. Bob’s whole world changed, not only because of the physical and mental effects of the amputation - but the ensuing financial devastation. Now, bound to a wheelchair, Bob, a 25yr flooring salesman, by trade and avid local fisherman, was forced to retire and unable to care for himself and at a loss to afford medical support care on his limited fixed income. Bob’s family rallied around him, with two children and five grandchildren, his oldest son, Corey, moved in with his father in Grover Beach, CA.
Bob, even with the assistance of his son Corey, has lost his life savings and assets. Moreover, in August, just a couple weeks after receiving a prosthetic for his left leg, Bob received heart wrenching news that the diabetes mellitus had spread to his right leg/ foot and on August 7, 2023, his right leg, just below the knee, was also amputated.
Over these past few years of Bob’s life he has struggled mentally, physically and financially with being sick and living in/out of hospitals. Unfortunately there have also been times that Bob couldn’t afford gas to be driven to medical appointments and grocery shopping. We are seeking donations to help Bob, now a double amputee he faces new physical, mental and extreme financial hardships, to include - medical coverage and care; cost for prosthetic devices; excessive hospitalization costs; steep increases in prescription drugs; inadequate insurance coverage for physical therapy and other treatments; and most importantly, potential changes to Medicare insurance benefits and costs.
