Saving Lady Bella

On the morning of November 7th at a local car wash, my dad found a severely emaciated dog that couldn’t walk, stand, or fend for herself. He called and told me about her and I immediately said, “bring her to me.” On the first day I fed her, bathed her, replaced her old collar with a brand new one, and named her Lady Bella. Monday morning I set up a vet appointment and began to rehabilitate her.

Well, now it’s November 12th and Lady Bella has amazing balance and enough strength to support herself as she walks. Her personality is even beginning to show as she rushes me to prep her meals!

Unfortunately, after her vet appointment she was diagnosed with a severe case of heartworms (although asymptomatic for now) and intestinal parasites (whipworms, roundworms, and hookworms). We’ve begun treatment for all intestinal parasites, but heartworm treatment will be delayed until she gains sufficient weight and we eradicate the intestinal parasites which will help increase her red blood cell count and protein levels.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise enough funds to treat Lady Bella for her ailments. She’s the sweetest girl and I wish I could afford all of her vet bills, but I live on a PhD stipend (not very much) and I currently have a dog, Jaxon, who requires special food for allergies. Please donate!
