For those of you who don’t know my wife Kasia thank you for taking the time to read our story.

Kasia and I have been together for 15 years, and married for 6. We have two beautiful girls together, Mosey, who is 4, and Dusty Rose, who is 2.  Life was close to perfect, until Kasia discovered a lump in her breast in December.

Kasia was convinced it was nothing to worry about,  even after her Doctor insisted on a biopsy.  After all, she was young, happy and healthy.  On New Years Eve, during the biopsy,  we learned that Kasia had Breast Cancer. Two weeks later, we were devastated to learn that this fast growing lump is in fact an invasive triple negative breast cancer.  This rare cancer is the most aggressive form of Breast Cancer, and also the most difficult to treat. It generally affects young women in the prime of their lives, just as it has for the love of my life.

Not one to accept defeat at such a young age, Kasia is attacking this tumour with everything she has.  She has to. Her little girls need their mumma, and I need my wifey.

Her best hope for treatment is immunotherapy, a treatment that costs $70,000 for the first 3 months alone. This treatment requires Kasia to travel to Mexico in February, where she will stay for 3 weeks. She will then return home to continue her treatment here, until a series of tests 3 months later to ascertain if the treatment is working. If not, Kasia will return to Mexico once again.

The road ahead will be tough, there’s no denying that. Even if this treatment is successful, an invasive triple negative breast cancer often returns within 1-5 years.  Kasia is determined to overcome this Cancer and not become a statistic - even if it means 3 weeks away from her family and spending every cent we have on treatment. Even then, it won’t be enough.

Kasia is too proud to ask for help, but I’m not too proud to save my wife’s life. The fact is we can’t fund this life saving treatment without help.  So if you can spare even the smallest of change, we would be eternally grateful for any support at all.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. It’s surreal that this is happening to us, but the support and kindness we’ve encountered already gives us hope that we will get through whatever lies ahead.
