Saving Jeremy's kidney

Father suffering from a rare, inherited disease, is asking for the communities help.

Jeremy Rush was diagnosed with the very rare kidney disorder, Cystinuria, years prior.

Cystinuria is caused by too much cystine remaining in the kidneys and bladder. Normally, most cystine dissolves and returns to the bloodstream after entering the kidneys, but people with cystinuria have a genetic defect that interferes with this process leading to a build up of cystine crystals and stones.

These kidney stones tend to be larger in size and number, and often require surgical intervention.

Unfortunately, this was true for Jeremy and his family, as the build up and massive size of the stones left his doctors with no other options for treatment, resulting in the surgical removal of his left kidney in 2012.

Even worse, he is facing surgical intervention again.

Jeremy and his family, which includes his wife Jenna and their two daughters Kailtin and Kara, are in great need.

They are hoping to raise enough in donations to start the surgical process needed to remove several large stones from his remaining kidney.

Which must happen soon as he is in constant risk of kidney damage and further complications such as another massive infection, which he is still recovering from, after a nephrostomy tube was placed through his back and into his kidney, in the hopes of giving his kidney enough time to make it to the surgery.

They also need assistance for the recovery stage after surgery and to help soften the blow of the multiple hospitalizations he has gone through these past several months, as Jeremy is the main provider for his family.

Any and all donations, as none are too small for a family in such need, and all prayers are received with grateful hearts.
