Saving Equines from Auction

My name is Jill with Triple J Horse Haven. Our goal is to raise $2,500 more by this weekend/next week, to pull as many horses from the loose horse sale this Sunday.

The horses in the loose sale often go to the kill buyer who owns the auction house, or the other kill buyers who attend, hoping to profit from cheap horses by then sending them to Mexico to be slaughtered for their flesh.

To put it into perspective for you, these poor horses are jammed into semi trailers, taking long 2 to 3 day trips without food or water (and some are trampled/don't even make the journey). Then, in Mexico at the slaughterhouse, they are terrified, waiting to be killed, the worst way being by having their throat slit, and then they are rendered for their meat, often WHILE THEY ARE STILL ALIVE. This is the worst way to go, and these poor gentle soulful creatures deserve so much more from us humans.

This money will go directly to their bail $ from the bidding at the auction, their transportation to quarantine, and daily quarantine fees for their care. This will also help some if they need medicine or veterinary care.
