Saving Grumpy, the Super Puppy
Donation protected
Snow White, a pit bull, was abandoned by her owner at a high-kill shelter because she was about to give birth. Three days after arriving, Snow White gave birth to 7 healthy puppies in a cold, disease-infested shelter. Luvable Dog Rescue was contacted and took immediate action to get Snow White and her 7 puppies out of danger. A private transport was arranged. Snow White, Sneezy, Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Sleepy and Grumpy arrived at Luvable Dog Rescue in Eugene, Oregon 6 days later. Sadly, Snow White had contracted an upper respiratory infection from her exposure in the shelter. Soon after, the puppies all showed signs of the same illness . Thankfully, with around-the-clock care from the Luvable staff, all the puppies remain stable but Grumpy developed pheumonia and required hospitalization, Soon to be known by the Emergency Vet hospital staff as "Super Puppy" for his will to survive, Grumpy is making steady improvement and should make a full recovery.
His siblings and mother were put on the same course of antibiotics and Luvable staff has been providing supportive care to the rest of the family at the shelter. They all continue to improve.
Unfortunately, Grumpy’s vet bill is currently $4,500.00 with potentially additional days of care needed before he can be safely discharged. We are committed to bringing him back to health and are thankful for any donation to help this remarkable puppy out of his sad beginning and into the arms of a loving family.
