A little history of the gallery:
Gray Loft Gallery, located in Oakland, has promoted the rich art culture of the greater Bay Area for eight years. We have received "Best Art Gallery" in 2016 and 2017 in the Oakland Magazine's Readers Choice Awards. The gallery has been referred to as a hidden gem in Jingletown, and reviewed as a “do-not-miss venue in the East Bay.”
The mission of the gallery is to provide exhibition opportunities for artists in a setting that is an alternative to the traditional gallery model. We hope to inspire, engage and celebrate artists in our community and beyond. We acknowledge the achievements of emerging, mid-career and established artists – with an emphasis on those who live and work in the Bay Area – in a non-traditional art space.
A number of artists began their art career at Gray Loft Gallery.
COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on the gallery. Shows and events have been cancelled - and the future is uncertain.
As many know, our work in the gallery is a labor of love. But we need your help in order to keep creating opportunities for artists to show their work in our non traditional gallery.
We are not a commercial gallery - but we do rely on sales and fees from shows to pay for gallery expenses such as rent. of love.
We will use the funds to pay rent and gallery expenses - which will allow us to hold shows and have events once COVID-19 has lifted.
This support would mean so much to us - and to the community of artists and the art lovers who rely on the gallery to exhibit the beautiful and meaningful shows in our unique and aesthetic space.
For every gift of $200 - the donor will receive a small unframed original photo by Jan Watten.
For every gift over $400 - the donor will receive a small framed original photo by Jan Watten.
For every gift over $500 - the donor will receive a larger original photo by Jan Watten.
