Saving Glenn “NN” Kokemor

Hello friends and family -

Saturday April 9, 2022 my stepdad Glenn “NN” Kokemor was rushed to the hospital by my mama Sally after having a fever for a few days, what transpired in the last 48 hrs has been a blur and a panic for all of us. Glenn has been diagnosed with Viral Myocarditis and his heart was functioning at 20% then down to nothing with machines keeping him alive. He was transferred by helicopter to Temple Texas this morning to be put on ECMO the most advanced cardio thoracic life support out there, this machine is breathing and pumping his heart for him so he can rest while he’s in a medically induced coma. My mama is currently in temple at an extended stay while we await the next steps, this morning Glenn was responsive so his brain is still working which is great news. As some of you know both my mom and him are retired so what their insurance covers is kind of blurry at the moment but what we do know is that ECMO and the helicopter ride are insanely expensive and so are the costs of housing away from home. My mother and Glenn would never ask for help especially financially but the gravity and weight of this unexpected tragedy is more than anyone can handle. I’m asking for our friends and family to pull together what they can any bit helps to make this transition and hopefully recovery easier. Right now we are touch and go but we are praying for a full recovery we love of y’all and we believe extended prayers and hope really help too. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
