Hello beautiful Fillmore's Family

We want to start this page by expressing our gratitude for your kindness and support of Fillmore‘s as we continue on this journey

As you all may be aware we have just gone through a very painful & stress filled 12 months of legals with Kiama Council. This was all at great financial expense. the story itself is long & should not of occurred had there simply been better communication & a stronger desire to support arts in our community. Non the less, we have arrived at this point where we took a commercial decision to enter a plea of guilty for breaching sound conditions so we can draw a line in the sand and move forward to a brighter future.

We are in the process of a DA to help secure the future of Fillmore’s in our community which in its self is very costly but we hope a very worthwhile investment.

We ask for your financial assistance to cover the costs of the legal proceedings, a request we do not take lightly as we strongly feel this all could have very much been avoided at several opportunities throughout.

The magistrate ruled

We used money previously raised to pay $3,000 of the legal costs which has been a huge help and we are so grateful for, Thank you xx

We truly did not expect proceedings to continue in this manner and were in complete shock when after 8 months of conversations & appearances in court the Council put forward four charges & a 430 page document we needed to defend ourselves against.

We are so grateful to the magistrate for taking the time to understand the situation and to see reason. We apologise to the community that this again falls at their feet with regards to costs and we truly look forward to the future where there is a healthier relationship with council acting in the communities best interest supporting local businesses through entertainment precincts with an evening economy and culture all through our community.
