Our Crisis Has Changed But Is Not Over

Thanks to Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts getting us an incredible legal firm to fight for us, we came to a lease agreement with the new owners of our building that gives us until July 2028 to move. While giving us a little more breathing room, it is also a concrete date, as there will be no extensions. They have made it clear they need our space (and would even welcome us leaving early). If we do not have a new place by then, we will be forced to close.

Thus, we have given our campaign a new name:

“DREAMFLIGHT CAPITAL CAMPAIGN”

The funds we have raised so far remain, only the name and goal have changed. We recognize the best thing for Dreamflight's kids is for us to purchase our own building so we never again have to worry about someone else being in control of our fate.

The new goal, we admit, is Herculean. Buying a building is no small endeavor and means having enough capital set aside for a down payment, improvements and moving costs before we can start looking for an available building. So our new goal $350,000 by the end of Summer, 2027. This is because it could take a year to find and close on a commercial building of the required size for our programs. If we find one sooner, then we’re ahead and will celebrate moving early, but we need to plan on the amount of time it might take.

We always appreciate individual donors - you are all wonderful! - and we hope you will continue to support our goal. We also need your help finding corporate sponsors and philanthropic individuals, groups, and foundations from the community. If you know of any such individual or group who might help, we ask only that you arrange a meeting or introduction so we can present our case. We'll handle the rest, but we need that foot in the door to be given a chance.

About Dreamflight

One-of-a-kind, Dreamflight Theatrical Gymnastics offers Gymnastics, Dance, Acting, Writing and more through an interdisciplinary program.

As a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, Dreamflight serves 150+ families (children from 2-18, including, but not limited to, Preschool, Recreation, Competitive Team, and those with Special Needs) who cannot afford any other means of athletic or creative outlets. We are 25-60% cheaper than any other gymnastics facility in the area, and fundraise through Kid's Nights and Recitals to keep additional fees that others charge off the parents' plates.
