Saving Deuce from FIP

Tax deductible
Meet Deuce. Deuce is a tiny kitten with a huge spirit who wants to live, and we want to help her.

Deuce is only 6 months old, and has had a rough go of it already. In September, she was spayed and shortly thereafter developed a wonky head tilt and couldn't walk a straight line to save her soul. She was treated for possible middle ear infections, but she just didn't get better.

On October 1st, Deuce was again seen by a veterinarian and had developed a high fever of 107. The pieces came together, and the rescue and veterinarian realized she might have a condition called FIP.

FIP can cause various different symptoms, from a giant, fluid-filled belly, to brain signs like head tilts and a complete inability to walk. The rescue took Deuce to a local FIP specialist, and treatment was started.

The rescue that had Deuce can't take care of her, and she's being transferred to The Cats At Longstreet. We have the skills and resources to nurse her back to complete health, and with appropriate treatment, she has an excellent chance of a complete, full, and permanent recovery.

Deuce has only been on treatment for about 10 days, but there's already a huge difference. She can walk better, she's gaining weight, and she no longer has a fever. Even when she was at her sickest, though, she was always into everything and curious and incredibly social. She's amazing.

The Cats At Longstreet needs to raise about $2,000 before we can take take Deuce on. We've successfully treated so many cats with FIP, but we can't afford to keep doing it without outside help.

It's about $24 a day to treat her, and we need help. And we need it now.

Without treatment, Deuce will die.

Please consider helping Deuce live and donate and share this post.

More information about The Cats at Longstreet: The Cats at Longstreet was formed in 2011 by a veterinarian and a licensed veterinary technician who shared the same vision of helping felines in need. Together they find the right home for the right cat at the right time, despite their imperfections. They take on difficult cases that others would deem a waste of time, funds, and resources, because every life matters. They specialize in behavior cases, anxiety, socialization, neonatal care, intensive care cases, dental/surgical cases, and special needs.
