Saving 20 death row dogs in memory of Marika Barabas
UPDATE FROM HILDA 20.05.25:
12 lives saved so far in the Memory of my beautiful, precious Mum
We are happy to say that we managed to save 12 amazing little lives from a High Risk Killing Station in Hungary, where many dogs don’t make it out alive. Incredible support in the memory of our very special Marika who fall asleep not long ago. She would be so very happy to see these sweet little lives safe and secure. Thank you for all your wonderful donations! Without you we wouldn’t be able to achieve this.
They are now at the vets being checked over and we start to prepare them for adoption. They are now all microchipped, dewormed, fully vaccinated, flea and tick treated etc, and will be neutered. Please watch out for their advert to offer them a loving, happy home when they are ready.
If you would like to support our work please share and donate. Every bit of support you send us is a huge help to save many more little lives.
Thank you so much for all your support. Together we can make a huge difference in this world. God bless you all.
On 14th April 2025, Hungary Hearts Dog Rescue lost a very important and very special person. Marika Barabas, Mum to our beautiful charity founder, Hilda and her brother Barna, and beloved wife to Hungary Hearts legend, Janos, peacefully fell asleep.
Marika was the most loving, gentle and compassionate person – always giving extra care and time to weak or sick rescue dogs who needed more love to survive. Her love gave them the strength to continue and the motivation to get well. She saved countless lives by sharing her heart and soul with them and showing those who had previously suffered at the hands of humans, that there was kindness and love in the world after all.
We are sure you will agree that such a special person must be honoured for all she has done for family, friends and animals throughout her life. She never stopped sharing her time, even when she became very unwell, and gave generously to everyone around her.
To honour Marika, we would love to save 20 doggies in need from death row at the Killing Station and get them safely to our sanctuary. Pictures of four of them are attached. We need £500 for each dog for their release and medical treatments, neutering and vaccinations. As we don’t have surplus funds to achieve this, we’d like to ask for your financial support - every penny we receive currently goes towards supporting the dogs and finding them suitable homes, so your help is critical. Even small donations are so very much appreciated on behalf of our special Marika.
Can you please help us achieve our dream?
