Saving Cooper’s Life (Veterinary Expenses)
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Elleea and I’m the sister of Thadd (aka. Grimsley High School’s “Coach Rice”) and Anna. The engaged couple are high school sweethearts and Guilford County School teachers.
Yesterday, this sweet couple brought in the New Year in a terrifying way when it became obvious that their dog, Copper, was very sick. After a grueling wait at the Emergency Vet, it was discovered that Cooper had significant internal bleeding from a ruptured tumor on his spleen. He was placed in critical care, received a blood transfusion, and was in need of live-saving surgery.
This afternoon, 1/2/23, Cooper had a second blood transfusion and surgery to remove his spleen and the tumor. He will require multiple overnight stays in recovery. In addition, Thadd and Anna are waiting for pathology results of the tumor which will determine Cooper’s prognosis.
Cooper is only 7 years old and should have many more years of chasing squirrels and watching football games with Coach Rice! But he needed this surgery to have that chance. The funds raised from this campaign will go directly toward paying off the $10,000 debt incurred from Cooper’s Emergency veterinary care including blood transfusions, surgery, and overnight care.
I recognize that not everyone has the ability, means, or desire to donate but if you’ve read along this far, we ask that you please pray for Thadd, Anna, and Cooper. As you can imagine, it’s been a very emotional 24 hours and won’t quite feel normal until Cooper is home and healthy.
