Cinnamon is a 51lb Dutch Shepherd who still believes the best in everyone, even though the world hasn't been very kind to her. At just 15 months old, she should be playing in a backyard; instead, she is back in a shelter cell, facing the euthanasia list for the second time.
Cinnamon was not an out of control pup, though has had a heartbreaking life. Since November 2025, her life has been a blur of moving boxes and disappearing faces. She was returned to the shelter for being "too vocal," lost her foster family to a military deployment, and eventually bounced through five different homes in a single month. At her lowest point, she spent two nights sleeping in a car because her temporary situation turned unsafe.
The result? A sweet, social girl who is now vibrating with anxietyand stress. She isn't "broken"—she is exhausted. She’s "vocal" because she’s terrified of being forgotten and has severe separation challenges. She is constantly looking at the door, wondering when she’ll have to leave again.
Now she back at East Valley Animal Shelter on the euthanasia list. ID is A2212237.
Why We Need Your Help
Olive's Retreat Dog Sanctuary is working again with an excellent animal behaviorist. We are pulling Cinnamon from the shelter and professionally getting her the help she desperately needs. Decompression, building confidence, and learning she is finally safe. She doesn’t need more "temporary" couches; she needs a structured environment where she can finally decompress and learn that she is safe.
This training is her bridge to a permanent home. It gives her the confidence to stop worrying and the best possible chance at a family who will never give up on her again.
Cinnamon has spent her whole life trying to fit into worlds that didn't have room for her. Please help us give her the tools to finally stay. We can only save her if we raise the money for Behavioral Board & Train.
Every donation goes directly to her training and care. Let’s show Cinnamon she’s finally home.
All donations will be sent to Olive's Retreat Dog Sanctuary, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dog rescue and sanctuary, who reaches the most urgent cases in our high kill shelters in California. They are located in SoCal. EIN: 39-2563981
