Dr. Christopher Vito D’Souza – 57, was a great man. Christopher passed surrounded by his loved ones at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre after a valiant fight against Cancer. He was an exceptional husband, father, brother and son. He is survived by his wife, Daisy, sons Sheldon (Saudiah), Calvin and Dylan, daughter, Kaitlyn (Sean); sister Sandy (Dwayne), and mother Doreen. He is predeceased by his father Michael D’Souza.

Christopher was born in Mumbai, India and lived a full life. He cherished his time with family and close friends through fishing, playing tennis, winning board game nights, long drives to explore neighboring cities, and cottaging. Christopher dedicated his spare time to inspiring others through his music. He created a Christian music EP, which included 6 songs. All those who met Christopher felt his exuberance for life. He was a funny, intelligent, good-natured man who was dedicated to living a balanced life. Christopher was a professional and believed in life-long learning. He was the first D’Souza to achieve his Doctorate and chose to specialize in organizational leadership, change management, and learning and development. Christopher took his knowledge and passion gained through this experience to excel in his role as a portfolio manager at various large institutions. He loved what he did and created his company, Seventh Inc. Many close to Christopher knew that he thrived off of mentoring people. He took this passion one step further and became a professor at colleges and universities across North America. Most notably he lectured at Conestoga, DeVry University, and Sheridan. Also, he was a mentor at the Project Management Institute, The University of Phoenix, and the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) of Canada. Before he passed, Christopher was a proud guest speaker at the HRPA conference (2019), and The Institute of Performance and Learning (2019).

The family appreciates all those who fought alongside Christopher from the onset of his diagnosis until his final breath. He was loved by all and his legacy will forever be carried on by his family and friends. Christopher will be missed but never forgotten. Though he may have passed, Christopher lives on by inspiring others through his kind deeds, words, and music. Please visit the link below to listen to his music. The family appreciates if you would share the link with others who you think this will inspire. In the words of Chris, “Be strong, Live YOUR life and love YOUR life”.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Please click on the donation tab above for a link to the charity.

Christopher Dsouza was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma in April of 2019. So far he has completed 6 rounds of chemo and 2 rounds of High Dose Chemo.  All to have the lymphoma return.
On Friday Chris and Daisy received the devastating news that he has a mutation that is making him resistant to standardized chemo.

Leaving him with only limited options.
One being CAR T-cell Therapy and this could be the lifesaving treatment.  Over 80% of patients who received Yescarta® in clinical trials experience either a complete or partial response.

What is the T-cell treatment?

A type of treatment in which a patient's T cells (a type of immune system cell) are changed in the laboratory so they will attack cancer cells. T cells are taken from a patient's blood. Then the gene for a special receptor that binds to a certain protein on the patient's cancer cells is added in the laboratory.

We are appealing to all of you to help save Chris's life. This treatment has only been approved in the US. And the costs are astronomical.

We desperately need your help. The funds will be withdrawn by myself (Rosey Singh) a friend of Chris's wife Daisy DSouza and wired to their account.
The funds will be used to cover the cost of the T-Cell Treatment.
