Saving Chiquita

Meet Chiquita, a one-and-a-half-year-old Chihuahua/Pomeranian kiddo who jumped out of her carrier and broke both of her front legs on Sunday. Her owners, a retired couple, weren't able to afford her care. Dr. Jessica Mintz, a veterinarian doing a one-year rotating internship at a specialty hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, couldn't bear to put her to sleep. The owners relinquished the pup; now the hard work begins! Chiquita will have surgery soon to repair her tiny fractures with tiny bone plates. Please consider donating a small amount to help defray the costs. Chiquita will stay with Dr. Mintz until she is healed, and then will find a perfect new home to spend the rest of her life.
