Saving Chicken Wing & Peanut Butter

My name is Scott Meltzer and I am a tail-end Baby Boomer. I’m an American living in China; I have been living here with my Chinese wife since 2006. At the time I had my own consulting business, but like so many other things in 2008, my business crashed. My wife and I adopted Chicken Wing and Peanut Butter, four, and three years ago, respectively.

Chicken Wing is a Bichon Friese.

Peanut Butter (aka Peanut) is a designer breed, a so-called Teddy Dog.

For the last three years, Chicken Wing and Peanut have been best friends.

They do everything together: eat, play ball, wrestle, take walks with papa. And lots of sleeping. They both had some adjustments to make but now they are inseparable.

WHISKERS, TAILS, & FERALS
This is where my dogs’ fates take a remarkable turn. I contacted a long-time friend who gave me the email address of Linda Blake of WT&F (www.whiskerstails&ferals.com) in Napa, California. I sent Linda an email, and received a prompt reply from her.
Linda told me she would be happy to help find my dogs a home in California. I gave her my Instagram ID and also showed her the classified ads I had running. Her response was, that in her experience she felt that Chicken Wing and Peanut would be very well received and it would just be a matter of time before she found the perfect new home for my dogs.
Since then Linda has gone beyond my expectations, has given me hope, and is the Campaign Manager for this gofundme campaign.
Linda has taken an enormous amount of pressure off of me, by tirelessly walking me through the process and guiding me, so that she can find the best home possible owners for my dogs. Linda is an amazing and wonderful advocate for dogs who have lost their way. In the short time I have known her, I know that she tirelessly focuses on her mission of rescuing hopeless dogs, even though she has a separate business of her own. I know I can call her at 2AM PST and she will answer her phone.

TRANSPORTATION COSTS
The sole purpose of this gofundme campaign is to raise the funds required to send my dogs from Beijing to California via a major airline.
The estimate is between $3,000 and $4,000.
If donations for this campaign exceed my goal, some of the remaining money will be spent on accessories for my dogs for their new home, as I am unable to send anything with them except one blanket each.
Any leftover funds from this campaign will be donated to the Whiskers, Tails & Ferals animal shelter in Napa, California.
