Saving Chicken Noodle

Hello,

As you guys may or may not know, I have a cat named Chicken Noodle also known as bicken. I have been noticing over the past few days, that he has been eating/drinking less and has low energy which prompted me to take him to the ER. All these symptoms in addition to his jaundice confirmed his diagnosis of hepatic lipidosis (a liver disease).

As of right now, I do not know if this is primary or secondary, meaning i do not know if this liver disease is caused by another disease or not. I am starting this GoFundMe because unfortunately, I am still a broke college student who can’t afford to get him an ultrasound to get the specific cause of disease.

In addition to him needing an ultrasound, he may require a feeding tube because he has not eaten for days and is dehydrated from not drinking water. Ideally, he would be admitted to the hospital for IV fluids but they quoted me 5k for one night (which is why the goal is ridiculously high) so I am trying my best to medicate and feed him myself right now. He is refusing to eat on his own and has already lost a significant amount of weight so I am pretty much sure he will require surgery for a feeding tube.

Hepatic lipidosis is a curable disease but it requires a lot of time, resources, money and it has a high mortality if left untreated. I feel guilty for letting finances be the reason he doesn’t get to live and I am trying to give him the best care I can give him right now. I spent over a thousand dollars on just his ER visit alone and I am pretty much at my limit with his additional therapies. If you guys have met bicken you know how much he means to me and how he already had a difficult life to begin with since he got hit by a car. Although he was already suffering from anxiety and alopecia, he remains the sweetest and most cuddly cat i know.
