Saving CaryCitizen

In Cary, we have a strong sense of community. Lodged between Raleigh and Durham, we have our own identity and our own story.

Since 2009, the mission of CaryCitizen  has been to tell the story of our town  Five days a week, CaryCitizen readers respond to stories about government, arts, business, events, opinions and more. Today, we reach more than 100,000 people a month on the web, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

But now, the pandemic has brought CaryCitizen to a crisis. Our three main sources of income – advertising, festivals and our Downtown Map – have gone largely dormant.  We will be forced to suspend publication of CaryCitizen on Monday, August 31, 2020 without an infusion of funds.

The good news - we can make it through until the end of the year with $50,000.  We will use the money to employee salaries, web hosting and insurance so we can continue to publish 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year.

We want to continue telling the story of Cary, through this crisis, and when we emerge on the other side.

Thank you so much for your support!
