Captain Pickles is the sweetest little man in the whole world. A couple days ago he was hit by a car, which unfortunately crushed his entire leg. At ten years old he is totally healthy other than the injuries that were sustained, but he does need a removal of the leg to fix it.

His family, upon realizing that they could not afford the care that he needs to recover, decided to proceed with euthanasia. It took only five minutes for my clinic to come to a decision that we did not want this otherwise healthy and happy boy to have to lose his life. My coworkers agreed to help fundraise his care, but needed a place for him to go. I made the decision to foster him, and his family made the selfless decision to surrender him and were very grateful for the alternative option to euthanasia.

We need all the help we can get to get this guy back into tip top shape. He hopefully still has a number of years left as a happy tripod. Thank you so much for taking the time to read his story - I'm looking forward to providing lots of updates as he recovers and finds a wonderful forever home!
