Saving Bella: My Beloved Cat’s Fight for Life

Hi, my name is Kayla. I’m a full-time college student living independently, and I’m reaching out during one of the hardest times in my life. My beloved cat, Bella, is currently fighting for his life in the hospital.

Bella is a 7-year-old male cat with a name that tells a little story—when he was a kitten, I mistakenly thought he was a girl, and the name “Bella” just stuck because he only responded to it (and it still makes me smile today). He’s been my constant companion since I was 16, and I can’t imagine life without him.

On November 27, 2024, I found Bella lying down, barely moving, vomiting, and clearly unwell. My heart sank. I rushed him to the vet, where I learned he has a urinary obstruction, a life-threatening condition that has already impacted his kidneys. Bella’s condition is critical, and he’s currently hospitalized receiving intensive care to save his life.

I’m doing everything I can to ensure Bella gets the treatment he needs, but the costs are overwhelming. As a full-time student managing life on my own, I simply don’t have the resources to cover the mounting medical bills, and I’m heartbroken. Bella is more than a pet—he’s my family, my source of comfort, and my joy.
