Saving baby Brian
Donation protected
On Friday May 4th Shane and I went to our anatomy scan at 19weeks. They almost immediately stopped the scan and referred us to a high risk doctor. Brian was measuring 3 weeks behind (16wks). On Monday morning, we went to the high risk doctor where we learned that Brian was diagnosed with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR). I was pulled out of work and placed on a high protein diet. They ran tons of blood work that all led to placenta insufficiency. Growth scans were then scheduled every 3 weeks. At the second growth scan at 22 weeks, Brian was now 4 weeks behind. Measuring 18 weeks and weighing about 8oz. At this point they have found restriction in the umbilical cord caused by the placenta insufficiency, low amniotic fluid, and now placenta previa. We were told to continue with protein shakes and to now add a low dose aspirin to our regimen. Today, June 15th I went for my routine OB appointment where I was sent over to my high risk doctor to have an emergency ultrasound done due to lack of movement. As of today, Brian is now measuring , 6 weeks behind. I am 25 weeks today but he is only the size of a 19 week old fetus. Weighing 10oz. Amniotic fluid is still pretty low and the placenta is really struggling at this point. We are waiting for our care to be transfered to University Of Maryland where they will eventually admit me and take Brian when they feel its necessary. In the meantime these scans are very expensive and are now needing to be done every week. The lab work is astronomical and the medical bill's are piling up. At this point, we don't know if baby Brian will make it but we will never give up hope. It is time that Shane and I ask for help. It's not what we want to do but it's getting hard to keep our heads above water at this time. If you can't help financially, we fully understand and just ask that you pray for our sweet boy. We will continue to update everyone, when we know more. Thank you so much for all of your help. Its appreciated far more then you will ever know. Please help us save our baby boy!
