Hi everyone! My name is Carolina! As many of you know, in 2023, I picked up my life from Miami, Florida, and moved to St. Kitts to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. I’m currently in my second year of veterinary school, soaking up every opportunity to set myself up for a successful future.

This summer, I have been given the incredible opportunity to travel to South Africa to work alongside experienced veterinarians and my peers in the field. This isn’t a vacation—it’s a hands-on academic experience and an extension of my education that will allow me to expand my skills, gain invaluable knowledge, and contribute to real-world veterinary work.

My passion for animal care started early. Since I was 14, I have dedicated my time to volunteering with multiple nonprofit animal rescue organizations, providing care and support for animals in need. My stomping ground was Miami Animal Rescue, where a handful of my friends and family either fostered or adopted. I played an influential role in saving hundreds of lives, giving them second chances at a better life.

Before starting vet school, I also worked as a veterinary technician for three years, gaining critical experience in clinical settings. Many of you know me as the go-to person for pet advice, always happy to help with questions and concerns about your furry family members. This trip would mean the world to me—not only as a way to continue exploring different aspects of veterinary medicine but also as an opportunity to experience new cultures and broaden my perspective on global animal veterinary medicine.

For my friends and family who have trusted me with their pets over the years, you know how deeply I care about providing the best possible care for every animal I meet.
