Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Saving and Rehoming Strays SCIO https://www.facebook.com/savingandrehomingstrays and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.

My name is Dave Oxley
I am 71 years young.I live in Standish near Wigan with my partner Pat and our 2 little rescue dogs Leon and Heidi.
We are both lucky enough to enjoy good health.
Heidi came from Animal Rescue Cyprus.
Leon from Saving & Rehoming Strays
I have enjoyed a very happy and fulfilled retirement from BT for the last 11 years.
I am a very keen cyclist and ride twice a week with my fellow local cyclists.
We call ourselves Standish Panters !!!
My fellow cyclist Dave Ashcroft and I cycled from London to Paris 2016 for the blood/bone marrow cancer Multiple Myeloma and managed to raise a substantial amount.
Dave and I have also cycled the coast to coast so I am used to long distances.
I am really looking forward to the challenge of riding LeJog having thought about giving it a go many times. I decided that it was now or never
I am doing this ride without support so your support would be much appreciated
It will be my biggest challenge yet
I also am the proud owner of a Narrow Boat and Pat & I take it out as much as we can.
We came across this small animal rescue before it achieved charitable status a few years ago when we adopted our little dog Leon.
It is run pretty much by a one superwoman band called Claire Louise Revis together with some wonderful volunteers. She made a big impression on us when we first met her. It was obvious from the offset that all that mattered to her was the animal in question. So we have kept in touch with her ever since.
Regularly helping to raise funds and share the word.
I travel up to the Rescue as much as I possibly can to give Claire whatever help she needs with DIY etc.
Our son Mark has also recently adopted from SRS. He's called Toby and is a delightful little puppy.
Leon's mum was pregnant when she arrived at Claire's . She had several puppies who struggled to survive but with Claire's undying love and devotion the puppies are now 3 years old and thriving in various homes across the country.
Claire will never say no to any dog or cat that needs help.
She will rescue them from anywhere and if they have a half decent chance of some quality of life then she will be there for them.
She has many of the animals living with her .
Some of which will never be able to be rehomed for various reasons but can live a safe and peaceful life with Claire.
She has given her life up for them.
Never able to even take a day's holiday.
So we all do what we can to help her as finance is an ongoing issue.
I have wanted to do the Land's End to John O'Groats cycle ride for a while and to be able to raise funds for Saving & Rehoming Strays at the same time would be the icing on the cake.
Please help us help the animals
Please see the link to the website below for further information on the Rescue and the dogs available for rehoming and other ways to help i.e. sponsoring a dog
