Hi everyone, I’m reaching out because my 2001 Toyota Tacoma—a truck I’ve cared for and kept alive since it hit 298,000 miles—has finally met a challenge it can’t climb over on its own. Recently, while driving on the interstate, the transmission gave out completely. The RPMs spiked, the speed dropped, and I was left stranded on the shoulder, unable to engage any gear or even 4-wheel drive. My coworker luckily spotted me and picked me up, but my truck is currently sitting at a shop waiting for a miracle.

This Tacoma is more than just a vehicle; it is my only means of transportation and a vital tool for my work. I use it to transport clients, haul wood, and deliver food to people in our community. I have received quotes from multiple shops, and they have estimated the repairs will be significant. The truck needs a new transmission and critical suspension work to be safe for the road again. I’ve put my heart and soul into this truck to keep it running toward the half-million-mile mark, and I’m not ready to give up on it now.
