Saving a life of a Veteran.

Dear Friends, family, brothers and sisters. My name is Georgia and I'm fundraising for my husband Hercules Takis Sifonas. He was a Sergeant in the Greek Special Forces and before that he spent most of his time helping children and people in need. Not only would he buy boxes of food and have them shipped to the needy but he spent hours of his time helping those who had been psychologically abused and physically as well psychologically battered and abuse. Those who know him or know of him will remember the time he donated to heal broken hearts and not to mention having spent hours commiserating with people and children all over the world. Often I would find him crying after speaking with a child that he would help overcome the horrors of abuse and neglect. He would not hesitate to seek help for needy children but he also spent hours, weekly together with peace officers on the "street smart kids program teaching children self defence and personal safety". He was a very strong and virtually indestructible man. He never hesitated to smile or help an elderly woman or man cross the road.

On 4 July, 2020 he was diagnosed with spinal and bone cancer. He didn't stop the fight. He began to work with others in his predicament helping them any way he could. Sometimes neglecting his own duties to spend hours on the phone helping the needy. But the cancer came back recently, lost his job and found himself getting weaker until the pain finally strapped him to a life of medications, bed time, weakness and the one thing he hated most in life: Asking people he knew for funds to help with his medications, medical appointments, food etc. Although he is depressed on the verge of suicide he never displays this emotion to anyone. If it weren't for me I don't think anyone would know that he was suffering the trials and tribulations of this menacing disease that often has him yelling in pain and having lost over 100lbs. I'm his full time carer but I'm not qualified for any benefits.

Knowing my husband he would like for the donations for medications which is not covered, transportation, medical treatments, private medical appointments, 2 months of rent $967 CAD, bills and utilities as we are on the verge of being evicted from our apartment. The apartment is a studio with no balcony but we try to make do with what we have. Sometimes we go hungry for days and have to beg for money from friends to receive some form of sustenance. Neither of us are currently working and the lack of regular food needed for his condition is not available to him. We have no vehicle and still he hugs me and tells me "I love you and I'm sure there is a way out from this". I can't stand seeing him suffer like this any more but if you asked me why I need the help I would tell you that it would be to save the life of one of the most decent human beings I have ever met and loved. If he written this, it would have been far more articulate. But since I write this out of my heart, please forgive my occasional errors in scripture as I fumble to portray this message to you.

That being said I'm reaching out to you today to ask if you can help by donating for Hercules. Whatever you can either large or small with be thankfully appreciated. If you cannot donate we would appreciate your prayers. Please share.

Thank you for your time and may God bless you all.
With love Georgia.

P.s. I found a photo when he was in hospital. I took it while he was sleeping.
