Project Background: Five matriarchs in the jungle have identified domestic violence as the issue they most need help with. We stand committed to helping them build a women's shelter - and we need your help! The local Taitas, medicine doctors, have graciously donated land for a shelter.

Goal: The shelter will cost $10,000 dollars (US) to build and includes staffing, counseling, and basic necessities for the women and girls being sheltered.

How will funds be used? 100% of the funds raised for this campaign will directly fund the building of a shelter that will protect women and girls who have been raped, are victims of domestic abuse, or those injured during armed conflict due to narcotrafficking in the area.

En la selva, cinco matriarcas han declarado que la violencia doméstica es una situación recurrente y preocupante en su entorno, por lo que muchas mujeres necesitan recibir apoyo y ayuda. Nos hemos comprometido a construir un refugio para ellas y ¡necesitamos tu ayuda! Los taitas, médicos tradicionales de la zona, han donado el terreno. El 100% de los fondos recogidos con esta campaña se utilizarán para construir el refugio que abrirá sus puertas para proteger a mujeres y niñas que hayan sido violadas, sean víctimas de violencia doméstica o hayan sido heridas en el conflicto armado debido a la guerra con narcotráfico presente en la zona. Los $5k recogidos servirán para construir el refugio y financiarán el personal necesario para ponerlo en funcionamiento durante un año.
