Save Willow Grace The Animal Mentor

Purpose Farm  is a 501c3 FREE youth mentorship program and animal rescue. We pair youth ages 6-18 who have emotional trauma from neglect, abuse, and or being bullied and youth who have trouble adapting socially, with animals that have been rescued from similar circumstances. Through contact of our animal mentors & human mentors we want to give the children hope, love, joy, confidence and show them that they were made on purpose for a purpose!
We are primarily a horse farm with other animals such as alpacas, goats, a variety of birds, pigs, a donkey and more!
One of our animal mentors, a small pony named Willow Grace has been diagnosed with colitis late evening July 18th. She is under local vet care and on round the clock pain med and daily antibiotics. The vet has recommended that she be transported to Cornell for treatment for her best outcome. However we do not have the funds for Cornell so we continue to treat her here on the farm with a vet coming out daily. We are currently in need of $550.00 to cover the past two days of treatment and the vet will be returning today July 20th. The amount needed will continue to increase as she will need continued care. If we are able to raise the funds to transport and treat her at Cornell we will do so if still needed. If you would like to donated directly to the vet please email [email redacted] for their information. Willow has so much to offer the youth that come out to the farm to be mentored and we are hopeful that she will be able to continue to be an animal mentor at Purpose Farm. We want to do everything we can do to insure that Willow Grace has a full recovery, but with her being a horse it can get extremely expensive. If you can find it in your heart, please donate to help her. Just $1 can make a difference! Thank You.

Willows  Background Story
Willow Grace came to us by a woman we knew. She could no longer care for her and asked if we could take her. We were not taking in anymore rescues but we said we would go and look at her. When we got there Raven (our daughter & youth session leader) and I knew right away that we needed to bring her to our farm. She ended up being infested with lice, and worms. Her teeth were so bad that they had created ulcers on the insides of her cheeks. She also had a bad respiratory infection that hindered her breathing in and out. She was also diagnosed with Cushings disease. On top of that we found out that she has founder issues and after being with us about a month, Willow foundered bad and could not walk. After many meds and treatments and care, Willow was turned out with the rest of our herd as she longed to be with other horses after being with cows for three years and having no contact with other horses. She whinnied out to them and ran right up to the herd. She fits in just perfect as if she has always been here.
We were told that Willow was a carousal pony before she went to the lady we knew and she lived with the lady and the cows for three years before coming to Purpose Farm. Willow on her day of arrival Dec. 2016
