Wanda Joyner Jones is fighting her third cancer diagnosis:

Breast cancer in 2005, 2006.

Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, 2011 - still being treated and now stage four Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma which a very rare type of cancer.

Adrenocortical carcinoma, a rare disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the outer layer of the adrenal gland.

The prognosis (chance of recovery) and treatment options depend on the following:

1. The stage of the cancer (the size of the tumor and whether it is in the adrenal gland only, or has spread to other places in the body).

2. Whether the tumor can be completely removed in surgery.

3. Whether the cancer has been treated in the past.

4. The patient's general health.

5. The grade of tumor cells (how different they look from normal cells under a microscope).

Adrenocortical carcinoma may be cured if treated at an early stage. Only 300 – 400 cases have been diagnosed in the country. Wanda is currently undergoing very aggressive chemo-therapy treatments, but is also seeking to received specialized treatment by the Envita Medical Center in Scottsdale Arizona which is the purpose for this Go Fund Me Page.


Envita does not bill insurance and the center is out of Wanda’s insurance network so she will be required to pay out of pocket – and seek only 50% reimbursement from her insurance.

The cost of treatment at Envita can range from $80,000 - $180,000 which is nothing if life can be expanded for several years.
