Help Me Become A Marine Biologist
Donation protected
I'm not asking for a free ride. I'm not even asking for half of what I need. Just a third of the tuition. Since I was a kid I have been fasinated by marine life in our various oceans. I own a few aquariums in my home that house some of this marine life. Corals as well as fish. Before my grandma passed on Christmas Eve, I made a promise to her and my daughter I would follow my dreams and love for Marine Life further and become a marine biologist. I want to attend University of West Florida and take the Marine Biology classes to do my part to help the coral reefs and acheive my goal of becoming a Marine Biologist. Not asking for a free ride at all. Every little bit helps.
The world's coral reefs are declining rapidly. Many of the Caribbean's coral reefs could vanish in the next 20 years, according to a report published by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Just recently Australia is on alert because of a oil spill off Great Barrier Reef. maybe if people took the time to see how precious our reefs are, they would help to preserve them.
Data from more than 35,000 surveys suggests that habitats have declined by more than 50% since the 1970s. The report's authors believe that over-fishing, global warming and disease is mainly to blame. They say the trend could continue if nothing is done, but with protection the reefs could bounce back. I want to be a part of the recover effort! I just need a little help to get into the classes. I'm not asking for a free ride. Just to help me get started. Thank you!
Please help me achieve this goal in life and use the passion I have for marine life to help restore and teach and drive awareness about our beautiful coral reefs. Also pass down my knowledge to my beautiful daughter sho shares the same passion as I do.
