Right now, as my store is not an essential business, The Makari has been closed for over 3 weeks and it will continue to be closed for the foreseeable future. My husband's contracting company is also out of work until July, since all construction business has been mandated to remain closed until then.
I understand that we are all suffering. Many businesses are closing, and we as New Yorkers are doing a fantastic job in helping the local businesses that are able to remain open for takeout/delivery. But for the local businesses who are unable to make sales through those methods, the continuous rent expected is daunting.
In order to afford rent and other expenses like insurance, utilities, and making payments to the artists and antique stores that I have purchased items from, today I ask you for any help that you might be able to provide. If you have ever purchased from me in the past or wished you had, or if you are looking forward to ever visiting my store in the future, your contribution would be greatly appreciated.
I hope that with all of your help, I can continue to help create a gateway for Japanese historical items and the success of young artists. Thank you so much for your time and any help you can spare.
