Hello everyone, I am living in Brentwood, NY. I have posted in the past about the situation here with the unfriendly neighbors who do not like cats and other animals. In 2024, Happy Cat Sanctuary (Chris Arsenault) rescued feral cats from my residence where I rent. I hadn't seen any more cats since then until last month in August when someone abandoned two adult cats with kittens. The kittens looked only 6-8 weeks old from my view. Now, having a better view of them all while watching them feed, they look to be about 2-4 months old.
These kitties are in imminent danger from the neighbors. I had to call the police and the SPCA to report my next-door neighbor for trapping animals and killing them while in the traps. Last Sunday, I was in bed with my windows open and heard digging. I remembered a former resident informing me about the neighbors, but I never took it seriously because there was never proof or solid evidence, only word of mouth. The neighbor finished digging, walked away, and picked up a trap. I saw a dead kitten in the trap that he dumped into a hole and buried. The photo with firewood stacked with the white bag and big concrete rock s that is the neighbors backyard where he buried the kitten after killing it in trap in the photo.
Carole saw my posts and sent me an outdoor catio enclosure. As John Debacker said, when the cats have placement, he can trap and TNR them. So, I have the catio now. Once it's all set up, I will need supplies for it for the cats. There are ten (10) altogether: two adults and eight offspring that are 2-4 months old. I have a wish list from Walmart and Amazon for anyone willing to donate supplies like cat food (dry and wet, any brand) so they don't starve, and cat litter. The catio will hold them until they can get permanent placements or go to a rescue or sanctuary. The funds will go towards the cats medical care and boarding regardless if they go to a sanctuary or rescue or if I have to update the catio for expansion and get it insulated for the winter . Which I will need assistance with that since now it has to come that term.
Anyone willing make donations it will help these kitties that are now cats and will be very appreciated. Thank you.
