I’m reaching out to share the story of Sweet Pea, the beloved rescue dog of our dear friend Laurah. Sweet Pea has brought so much joy and love into Laurah's life and has quickly become an irreplaceable part of her family.

Sweet Pea's Journey:

Sweet Pea was rescued by Laurah, who gave her a second chance at life. Despite her difficult past, Sweet Pea is a gentle and loving dog who has touched the hearts of everyone she meets with her sweet nature and resilience.

The Accident:

Recently, Sweet Pea was scared while downtown and managed to slip out of her new collar. In her panic, she ran from downtown 17th Ave in Calgary all the way to Killarney. Laurah and her family searched tirelessly all night until the sun came up, desperate to find her. Defeated and exhausted, they finally received a phone call from the vet. Sweet Pea had been found in a backyard garden by a kind homeowner, but she was suffering from a broken pelvis and puncture wounds.

The Road to Recovery:

Sweet Pea's injuries are severe and require extensive medical treatment and surgery. The estimated cost for her care, including surgery and ongoing monitoring, is between $10,000 and $15,000. These unexpected expenses are overwhelming, especially as the costs continue to rise. Laurah even had to miss some markets, adding to the financial strain.
