Sponsor army veteran for stroke recovery

Donation protected
Last week, Denis, an army veteran, father, uncle, grand uncle extraordinaire, pet rescuer, son, brother and friend suffered a debilitating stroke Monday while riding his bike to a much anticipated family reunion that was more than 10 years in the making.

Denis was recently moved from ICU to begin the grueling process of recovering his abilities that were severely affected.

Denis needs your support to help with pet care, home care, and bills while he is totally disabled and recovering from this tragic and life changing event.  We do not know when he will be discharged from the hospital and it may be months before he can do much on his own.

With your prayers, well wishes, and support we are hoping for the best possible outcome that can only be determined one day at a time, while he recovers.

I'm Denis' brother's girlfriend setting up this campaign and Denis' sister will manage whatever  funds people can find it in their hearts to give.

This family lost their mom at a tragically young age in a horrific accident in the 1960s and their dad passed away in the 1990s.  Denis lost his older brother just a few years ago and almost lost his younger brother last year, here but for the grace of God to now help Denis.

Denis' step mom, Kathy, who, with her daughter-in-law Laura was by Denis' side within hours of finding out about his stroke. His stepmom is also recovering from health issues and had to fly home today. His brother Robbie, who he hadn't seen in a decade, was fortunate to have the opportunity to spend some time with Denis before the stroke and Denis got to meet his sweet niece Ally and wonderful sister-in-law Laura.

We are all reeling in shock from Denis' stroke and doing what we can to help.

Denis' wonderful, loving and concerned sister and Denis' kind neighbor are trying to coordinate the daily needs of kitty-care.

Denis' two neices and nephew, Julia, Kristen and Scott, drove hundreds of miles in one day and worked hard and gave Denis' five kitties a wonderful clean and well stocked apartment. Denis' brother, Richard, also recovering from debilitating health issues, was with them to guide the process with a brotherly touch.

We are all doing what we can and we know, we need a lot of help.

A special heartfelt thanks to Marcus and David one of whom found Denis on the side of the road when his bike fell during the onset of the stroke and between the two managed to find Denis' family through Facebook (I believe) since Denis was not able to communicate.  A blessing of social media proportions :-)

Thank you for your well wishes and we know that Denis not only very much needs your support, but also very much appreciates it.
