I rescued Solo 4 years ago from a kill shelter. He spent the first two years of his life in a cage too small for him and his back had a little curve in it because of that.
We spent the first year getting him over the heart worms he contracted in that cage, then another year or more doing heavy training and lots of isolation.
When we moved to our homestead, 20 acres in the mountains of NC, he became a real dog. Barking at birds, chasing little animals he could never get and looking genuinely happy all day long.
Last week Solo started limping. As the days went by he was obviously in more and more discomfort, then pain. I took him to the ER yesterday and found out it’s neurological (meaning spine related) and that he’d need surgery to live.
The surgery quote was $10,000-$12,000.
So I made this page.
I don’t have the money, but couldn’t just kill him because I’m poor, so this is a last ditch cause.
If you can help in any way, it’s be appreciated
