Shane's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
I write from the heart, as Shane's sister, to help this amazingly talented, fun-loving, brilliant man become the person he truly aspired to be as a kid and is working so hard, as we speak, on still become again.  Shane is an addict, his weakness is alcohol.  It has consumed every inch of his life.

In the past 10 years I have seen my brother crawl into a deep dark hole, hide from the world with alcohol as his companion, only coming out periodically to  grace us with his presence.  Only he knows why he has chosen alcohol to numb himself, but our family is trying to help bring him back to life.  When we were kids he loved to play golf and racketball with his friends, raft the beautiful wild river and ski the lush mountains of Idaho.  Now he has told me, since being in an inpatient treatment facility that he can't even name a hobby or remember the last time he did hang out with his friends.

Shane needs help!  He's already taken the step of going into an inpatient treatment facility despite the fact that he cannot afford any of it, with the realization that he needs to get himself better, work on himself, focus on how to change the things he CAN change.  As of today (January 22) he has been in treatment for 13 days!!!  Every time I talk to him he's BETTER and BETTER and BETTER!  I can hear SHANE!  I can hear his voice, his work he's doing, his laughter coming back.  I'm tearing up with joy and extreme happiness just writing this.  He's so determined to make his life worth living every day!!!

He needs our help to keep him sober, to keep him accountable, to help him pay for bringing the Shane back we all know and love!!!  I wish I had the money to pay for his treatment, his family & our family wishes we all had the money to pay for his treatment, sadly we don't, but we could possibly pull together as his family and friends and surround him with our love, support and well wishes....and that is why I am asking you today to HELP SHANE!  He will forever be grateful for your love of helping him get through this tough time.

The money will be used to help pay for Shane's treatment ($10,000), which insurance will only pay a minimal portion ($1400!) of and any excess will help him pay his mortgage, bills and food his family needs while he is in treatment and when he gets out to continue outpatient treatment.

It isn't about the amount you give but about the love you have for Shane and seeing him succeed at this awesome life we all are given!  Please help Shane become that incredibly happy person again, the husband, brother,  son, friend and to bring back the laughter we all crave from him.  As his sister I can't thank you enough for being there for him!!!  We will forever be grateful for your love and giving to help him and his family through this difficult time.
