Help Save Teddy Roosevelt
This handsome guy was found in Ocala after being shot, and needed immediate medical care to survive. The mother of a vet student found him sleeping on her porch and immediately brought him for medical attention (he's luckily the sweetest, wiggliest boy, tail wagging with a possibly broken arm, and wanted to try his hardest to get in the car with her).
Covered in fleas and blood, he is now getting medical care thanks to two vet students who can't stand to see him suffer, are putting the bill on their own credit cards.
The bullet tract goes from his shoulder to the side of his neck, and seems to have damaged his lungs but missed his major arteries and nerves. He needs extensive wound management for the next month, and will need a strong course of antibiotics, though he is not completely out of the woods. We are hoping he will be as resilient as all of the pitties in our lives and make a miracle recovery worthy of his name.
One of the vet students will take him home and work on his daily bandage medical management if possible. This is extremely painful, however, and if he needs to return to the vet, it will cost $100/day to be sedated for the bandage change by professionals.
He was sweet and tail wagging with a hole in his arm, so we are hopeful he will be sweet once he sees the love we are showing him. These vet students are paying with loan and credit card money for Teddy Roosevelt's medical care and doing their best to find a rescue group who will take him.
All we need is you! Please donate anything you can to help save the life of an innocent animal. It takes so many of us to undo the injustice of one person, but nobody is here to speak for him except all of us!
With your compassion, he can have a second chance. He has already experienced more love in one day than he has likely received throughout his entire life.
