Nora is an approximately 5 month old female puppy who was rescued from the pouring rain due to her family no longer wanting her. Her current foster family  planned to help find her a new home. Nora was taken for physical exam by a vet and it was discovered that  she has a high grade heart murmur. Nora's heart murmur is due to a serious birth defect called a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ; this means she has a hole between her aorta and pulmonary artery.  Nora needs a specialized heart surgery to correct the defect. Without surgery, she will  die from congestive heart failure at a young age. Prognosis with surgical repair of the heart defect is excellent! Local rescue groups do not have the resources to take Nora into their care and get her the surgery. We are fundraising to help Nora get surgery and find a good home. She is a very sweet puppy who is currently sharing her foster home with other dogs and cats and does well with both!
