For so many of us Project Parlor has been or still is a home away from home. A place where we've built friendships, relationships, fell in love. Since it's earliest days the bar at 742 Myrtle Avenue, what ever you called it has been a community gathering place, home base and living room for countless individuals and chosen families. Before Covid 19 turned our lives and world upside down the bar had closed for a month to install a new floor, with no idea how the rest of that year and the following would go. We were able to continue to serve our communities through the most isolating of pandemic times thanks to our outdoor space.
As things have reopened and scaled back up, we've faced several set backs with infrostructural decline thanks to the age of the bar and it's systems, changing neighborhood paterns and a very inconsistant summer, which would normally be when the bar has thrived.
The winter in the best of years has been a struggle for our little bar to make it through but this year has been particularly challenging having had several things fail and unexpected costs arise. We're raising funds to help keep the bar afloat through the winter which includes covering debt which has mounted, while also making improvements and repairs to keep the bar vibrant and serving the diverse and eclectic communities which have made it the one of a kind place which it is.
Beyond this campaign we will be holding several in person events which we look forward to seeing you all at, donations over $50 will guarantee you admission to those benefit events. We are also thinking about making t-shirts so do let us know how many would be intereste rd and we'll look in to pricing on that.
With out you all, the countless guests, friends and families who made us a part of your lives once or a thousand times we are eternally thankful. When the hard conversations were had you were the reason we choose to keep pushing on, to keep offering a home away from home, a landing pad and a home base for everyone who have built the bar that started out as a dream and a project nearly 15 years ago.
